The Department of Commerce established in 2001, in addition with B.Com,B.Com (CA) , B.Com (ACCA) & B.Com (Professional Accounting) B.Com with (Computer Application) , B.Com (Corporate Secretaryship) & B.Com (Information Technology) , B.Com (B&I), B.Com (A&F), and B.Com (FS) and Post Graduate of M.Com (CA) Apart from offering M.Phil and Ph.D. courses Full time and Part-time in commerce and different domain specialized areas like Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Accounting, and International Business, etc. with a vision to educate, train, and facilitate student’s creation and development of value-added human resource Global standards. B.Com

The Programme Bachelor of Commerce was started in the year 2010 which is designed to equip students with in-depth understanding and working knowledge of various disciplines like accounting, finance, marketing, and human resources by offering a comprehensive curriculum. The three-year undergraduate degree programme is divided into six semesters and is designed as per the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) model curriculum prescribed by the UGC. The programme also encompasses building an elevation to compete to accumulate knowledge and understanding of the changing global economic environment.

B.Com (PA)

The Programme Bachelor of Commerce with Professional Accounting was introduced in the year 2014which has been designed to create accounting and finance professionals. The three-year undergraduate degree programme is divided into six semesters and is designed as per the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) model curriculum prescribed by the UGC. There are many career opportunities in the corporate arena and it is one of the topmost career selection made by the students which facilitate them to take up these programmes concurrently.

B.Com (ACCA)

The Programme B.Com integrated with ACCA was started in the year 2017. It is a 3year undergraduate program that has been designed in collaboration with the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), UK, and the knowledge partner of  International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC), UK. This programme is integrated with fundamental papers are divided into three levels: Knowledge, Skills & Professional and also  ACCA qualified professionals which provides high global employability opportunities in the field of Accounting & Finance like Auditing, Banking, and Financial Institutions.

M.Com (CA)

The programme Master of Commerce was introduced in the year 2017 which stand for the strengths in the regulation of Accounting and Finance and Business Management to provide students with advanced skills and knowledge to be competent for positions in the private and public sector depending on the specialization they choose. The two-year postgraduate degree programme is divided into four semesters and is designed as per the model curriculum prescribed by the UGC. The programme makes use of students to procure knowledge & skills and paves the path for them to achieve their academic objectives.

B.Com (CA)

The program Bachelor of Commerce (Computer Applications) was introduced in the year 2001 . The students of B.Com CA will learn not only the subjects of Commerce, but also to learn the software technology for their professional requirements. The course bridging commerce and computer applications helps them to become smart and employable. Training in Computer Applications in the field of commerce is an extra mileage in placements. It has an innovative modern curriculum. Students can find a lot of career opportunities in the field of accounting, banking, marketing, e-commerce, teaching, insurance, and stock markets.

B.Com (BPS)

The program Bachelor of Commerce (Business Process Services) was introduced in the year 2014. In association with Tata Consultancy Services is a bachelor degree program in Commerce. The main objective of the program is to create professionals who develop a proficiency in the field of commerce. The program facilitates students to engage, understand and master a grasp over economics and business process services with ease to further, create an enriching career for themselves. Our rigorous curriculum, facilitated by eminent faculty ensures that our students acquire knowledge of quantitative techniques as well as a thorough understanding of the field and demands to be met. Graduates of this degree will be able to demonstrate their skills in Accounting, Auditing, Banking E-commerce, Insurance, Finance, Retail and Market Research.

B.Com  (A&F)

The program Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and finance) was introduced in the year 2018, with the prime aim of providing education in the commerce field where students can learn the latest trends in business and commerce and also teaches the fundamentals of accounting and finance practices. Through this course, an individual can learn the technical skills associated with many of the procedures of finance analysis and accounting standards.  The faculty team guides students in every step by motivating them to constantly upgrade their own skill and to ensure the students are well prepared to succeed.

B.Com  (B&I)

The program Bachelor of Commerce (Banking and Insurance) was introduced in the year  2018. The Degree covers the study of the concepts of Banking, Accounting, Banking Law, Insurance Law, and Insurance Risk & Insurance Regulations etc. In other words, B.Com. (Banking & Insurance) is a degree program in which, apart from a general course study in Commerce, the primary focus is on the systematic study of the concepts in the specialized subjects and topics related to Banking & Insurance industry. After passing the course, they have further studies options in various fields. They should have basic knowledge of the industry, good communication skills both written and verbal, interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, capacity to motivate team members, ability to deal with customers, ability to use computers and related technology and alert nature.

B.Com  (FS)

The program Bachelor of Commerce (Financial services) was introduced in the year 2018. Financial Markets are typically defined as having transparent pricing, basic regulations on trading, costs and fees, and market forces determining the prices of securities in trade. A Financial Market relates to a mechanism, which enables people to trade financial securities such as bonds, stocks, and commodities in the market. The course involves an advanced study of financial assets, markets, and institutions, debt & equity markets, foreign exchange market and financial management.

B.Com   (CS)

The program Bachelor of Commerce (corporate secretary) was introduced in the year 2018. The main focus of the course is to train students in corporate governance, with excellence in secretarial practices and company laws. This is one of the basic level degree programs to start a career in commerce. In this branch of study, students are given in-depth knowledge in subjects like Financial Accounting, Company accounting, Company Law and Secretaryship Practice, Marketing / Corporate E-Management, Business Management, Industrial Laws, Income Tax Law & Practice, Indirect Taxes Project (Institutions Training), Commercial laws and many more. This field of study also prepares students in computer application, word processing, file management system, speech recognition, etc.

B.Com ( IT)

The program Bachelor of Commerce (Information Technology) was introduced in the year 2018.The course provides holistic knowledge of IT and its application in the commercial domain to the graduate level students. It aims at providing a complete overview of all the aspects related to the subject. The annual salary in the industry can go beyond this average bracket with enhancement in the skill set and experience of the candidate.

B.Com (IB )

The program Bachelor of Commerce (International Business) was introduced in the year 2021 B.Com in International Business provides a comprehensive overview of commerce in a global context, which is applicable to a range of business sectors. Graduates of the B Com in International Business can undertake professional roles such as Import/ Export Managers, Freight Handling Technicians, Logistic Technicians, Sales Managers, Account Managers, Relationship Managers and Human Resource Assistants. It helps students to work in different social, political and cultural contexts. The program offers three elective tracks, allowing the students to specialize in Marketing, Financial Management, International Human Resource Management, E- Commerce, Textile Merchandising, Financial Derivatives and supply chain management. Each will develop your skills and understanding of conducting trade in a global economy and in developing cross-cultural business relationships. The program has been implementing Outcome based Education with Choice Based Credit System.

M.Com

The program Master of Commerce was introduced in the year 2011. The M.Com degree program concentrates on commerce, management and economics related subjects. The program covers core competencies in accounting, finance and e-commerce. This innovative program is designed for candidates intend to pursue their career in the fields of accounts / finance and are either at the beginning or mid of their professional career.

Classrooms

The classrooms are equipped with multimedia and audio-visual equipment to facilitate effective teaching-learning. They are designed to promote effective interaction between the faculty and the students.

IT Infrastructure

The college has a state-of-the-art, well equipped contemporary computer lab facility with-wide LAN and WAN network facility all interconnected with 150Mbps Wi-Fi Net connectivity all over the campus. Every workplace like classrooms, conference hall faculty rooms, computer labs, library, administrative offices, and Cafeterias, has network connectivity with internet with open network access. The campus is the central Hub for Information Technology enabled services which provide connectivity to various organizations.  computer labs with more than 250 high-end computer systems with TFT monitors. Each system is installed with the latest multi-user operating system and antivirus software. The college-wide Wi-Fi network provides internet access to the students at their own convenience.

Language Lab

To expose the students to a variety of self-instructional, learner-friendly modes of linguistic knowledge and a language laboratory has been set up. It enables students to learn better pronunciation over stress on word accent, intonation & rhythm.

Library

The library is an influencing center of resources that create knowledge. Rathinam Institutions has a well-equipped library with an enormous collection. The library resource center is fully automated. It has a collection of over 19,357 books. It subscribes to about 100 reputed national, international journals and magazines. In addition, the library also subscribes to the INFLIBNET, DELL NET, INFO-NET, and KIMBUS resources that have access to over 2000 e-journals, e-books. It also has a very good collection of books for various entrances, competitive examinations. The library has implemented the latest technologies for quick processing. It is computerized by using a user- friendly library software and bar-code scanners.

Association Inaugural Function.

Department of Commerce IV organized inaugural function of the Association Of Finance in the auditorium for B.Com (A&F), B.Com (B&I) and B.Com (FS). Chief guest Mr. S. Neethiselvan, Senior General Manager, Aroma Group of Companies inaugurated and addressed the gathering on financial services and also with his motivational speech for 150 students and faculty members.
