The department is committed to shaping the future creative professionals in the fields of media, design, film, and communication. With a clear vision, the department strives to produce innovative visual storytellers, communicators, and content creators and builds a strong academic excellence by student centric approaches. The curriculum is thoughtfully structured to balance classroom learning with real-world application, equipping students with the conceptual understanding and technical expertise necessary for the fast-evolving media landscape. The department offers UG and PG programs that span a broad spectrum of disciplines, including photography, filmmaking, visual effects, advertising, multimedia journalism, animation, and graphic design. A unique focus is on nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration are encaged to get valuable insights into academic and media industry.
Infrastructure Facilities Department of visual communication, structured with a separate wing where we can project our department for multipurpose usage. The students are exposed to the real-world creative gateway and industry best practices inside the campus in a built-in, well-equipped, full-fledged Studios with industry-standard big shooting with a unique identity. The latest technologies ensure that studios have highly flexible latest digital cameras, Edit Suite with industry-oriented latest Editing Software, Sound-proofed art-of-the-state Recording Theatre, Photography studio, Multi-Media Lab.
- A Entire Inbuilt studio with, Green Mat studio, Production studio, Dubbing Booth, Edit suit, Multimedia lab, etc.,
- The department wing is inbuilt with Community radio Station, Rathinavani 90.8, where students are engaged in producing programs.
- The entire studio infrastructure can be used for student purpose and for outsourcing purpose
- Through this Infrastructure development students are given an opportunity to get exposure to engage in industry programs.
Recording Studio
A Recording Theatre is a specialized facility for sound recording, mixing, and audio production of instrumental or vocal musical performances, spoken words, and other sounds. The Recording Theatre consists of a ‘Live Room’ attached with isolated ‘booth’ equipped with Rhode Perception Mic, and Yamaha 12 Channel Audio Mixer, controlled by the Sound Engineer with Pro Tools software in the control room.
Rathinavani community radio 90.8 is accessed by students to focus on communal harmony, national integration, Skill development, and entrepreneurial ideas.
Edit Suite
The Edit suite in the department consists of 6 workstations with Final Cut Pro and Avid Edit software for Video Editing. Each workstation consists of an updated configuration.
Production Studio
A production/photographic studio is a workspace to take, develop, print, and duplicate photographs. Photographic training and the display of finished photographs are key functions of a photographic studio. The studio also consists of a Green Room and storage space for other photography-related works. The Photography studio is equipped with Canon, Nikon, Sony alpha Still cameras, Elin chrome D lite, and Digital Pro Lights.
Screening In-Built Class Room
The screening room is meant to screen student’s short film projects to analyze, evaluate & Learning about world cinema. It consists of a higher-end Epson HD Projector with an amplified sound system for the film screening.
